Under discussion items, Superintendent Charles Mellon presented the board with a brief update on the field lighting project, as well as other summer maintenance items.
Discussion continues with NIPSCO on the accuracy of the “Net Metering” billing.
Mellon told the board that all certified instructional vacancies have been filled at this time for the next school year.
The five-year insurance loss history was shared with the board. Action by the federal government has delayed the penalty for non-compliance of the Affordable Care Act. This allows employers time to make adjustments and gives the government time to create guidelines and clarify the method of reporting.
The fiscal year ending balances of all extra-curricular accounts were reviewed by the board.
The Bus Replacement Plan and Capital Projects Plan were presented to the board as part of the 2014 budget preparation. A budget work session will be held on Aug. 1.
The board approved the first reading of the policy manual revision regarding Non-Resident Student Admission with the dates and numbers, as presented.
The board accepted the resignations of math teacher Bryan Heimlich, IT teacher and coach John Hruskocy, and Cooperative School Services staff member Kelly Wilder.

The board approved the reappointment of the following individuals for the 2013-14 school year:

- Dumas & Weist – Corporation Attorney
Approval was given to the data coach agreement with Lavonne Pelsy, as presented. Mrs. Pelsy is hired as an outside consultant and will be paid through a grant for this school year.
