Volunteers had already gotten a head start on the home, putting up the exterior walls prior to Saturday’s work day. When volunteers arrived Saturday morning, they began placing the trusses.
Work will continue each Saturday until the home is complete. Volunteers are needed to help with construction, preparing meals and clean-up. Donations of materials and food are being accepted as well.
Construction volunteers must be 16 years of age and older. No prior building experience is required as there are on-site supervisors to provided hands-on training. Volunteers may bring their own tools or use tools provided.
There will be no work day this Saturday due to the Labor Day weekend, but work will resume on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 9 a.m.
