"I perceive that, as our CEO, Mr. Barry will utilize an enabling, results-oriented style of management," says Courtney Poor, chairperson of the PMH trustees. With his experience as both a COO as well as a CEO, he has a unique perspective as to how to move forward in our challenging times. Barry succeeds Richard Mynark, who recently retired, as the chief officer at the hospital.
Most recently, Barry was the president and CEO of the hospital in Eldorado, IL. For nearly 20 years, he was the COO at Home Hospital in Lafayette, and Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
Barry’s goals include working closely with the medical staff to bring new and needed services to the community, as well as to maintain and expand the top-notch healthcare provisions already available.
“It’s our goal is to make certain that Pulaski Memorial Hospital is the ‘Preferred Hospital of Choice’ for Pulaski County and the surrounding communities,” Barry stated.
He has extensive experience in executive healthcare administration including physician relations, operations, strategic planning, marketing and human resources. He holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from Washington University School of Medicine, St Louis, and a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). He has fellowship Status with the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Barry and his wife, Joan, have three adult children and one grandson. They plan to be permanent residents in the Winamac area and be very involved in community activities.
