The school board was informed that the school corporation completed a successful audit by the State Board of Accounts. The exit interview will take place on Monday, Nov. 5.
It was announced the school board will participate in a work session after the first of the year to review the strategic plan and address the future needs of the corporation.
Superintendent Charles Mellon presented the current free and reduced lunch enrollment figures to the board that indicate a small growth from last year. Nearly 56% of the students enrolled in the corporation qualify.
Bids for a bus and one mini-bus have been received and the final approval for purchase will take place at the December meeting.
Book Fair information was shared with the board. Thanks to Mrs. Bergens, Mrs. Hart, the parents and community, the book fair was very successful again this year.

The board approved the personal leave request for Kasey Lowry, as presented. The request was approved with Dean Lowry abstaining.
Don Street and Marci Kennedy presented a banner and plaque to the board. This represented the 2012 district-wide accreditation from AdvancEd.
Street and Kennedy also went over the changes to the course description books.The board approved the high school course description book changes for the 2013-14 school year, as presented.
The board approved the 2012-13 high ability grant, as presented.
The board voted to approve the 2013 non-certified insurance rates, as presented.
The board presented certificates to the Students of the Month: Perla Salazar (middle school) and Ashleigh Hensley (high school). Daniel Beiswanger from the elementary school was also honored, but was unable to attend the meeting.
