The county police and the Francesville E.M.S were called to a home at 518 W. Montgomery St. at 9:08 p.m., Saturday night, in reference to a subject at the residence who was not breathing. According to the police report the caller, an older woman named Anna Gentry, said that a friend was visiting and had stopped breathing. She added that her son was
performing C.P.R.
When E.M.S. arrived, they determined that resuscitation was not possible and requested the coroner.
Anthony Gentry, 32, and a resident of the house, told Pulaski County police detectives that Holbrook had been at the house helping him with some landscaping. He said Holbrook had complained several times that day that he didn’t feel well. Gentry advised that later in the day they went upstairs to watch TV. He said Holbrook fell asleep in a chair. When Gentry tried to
wake him up later, he observed that Holbrook was not breathing and his lips were blue, according to the police report.
Gentry asked his mother to call 911, and he performed C.P.R. until E.M.S. arrived.
Police report that the first officers on the scene observed drugs and paraphernalia located in plain view in the room where the victim was found. The homeowners gave detectives consent to search and seize this evidence. Field tests later indicated a presence of methamphetamine and heroin.
The Pulaski County Coroner's office is investigating the cause of death. No arrests have been made at this time, but the investigation continues by the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office.
Pulaski County Police detectives Robert Taylor and Dave Walters are among the investigators.
