Middle/high school principal Don Street announced that next week is FFA week. The middle school dance will be Feb.27, and the Pennies for Patients presentation will be Monday, Feb. 27 at 11:05 a.m. He extended congratulations to the five wrestlers who advanced to the semi-state and the two who are alternates to the State Finals. He also congratulated the girls basketball team on winning sectional. They will advance to the Caston Regional.
The boy’s basketball sectional will be held at West Central this year. Play begins Tuesday, Feb. 28.
Elementary school principal Tony Brose expressed a sincere thank you to the board for the purchase of the new technology equipment. The equipment is fully installed and the teachers are putting it to good use, he reported.
The school board heard a presentation from Dave Frye who provided statistics and information concerning the central time issue.
Mellon went over the different options with the gym floor refurbishing project and the elementary lighting project to be completed this summer.
The board voted to approve the agreement between the North White School Corporation and the Cooperative School Services, as presented. North White will become the ninth member of the special education co-op.
The board also approved a conference request from Jessica Murray to attend the Gordon Food Show in Schamburg, Ill.
