The plea was entered on Monday (Oct. 24), four days before a trial date was set on Oct. 28.
Two misdemeanor OWI charges were originally filed in the matter. Sommer reported the case is now disposed.
Klitzman, who is superintendent of Eastern Pulaski Schools, was arrested following a July 16 incident in which he was pulled over by police on S.R. 29, north of Michigantown after allegedly swerving left of center. He failed a field sobriety test, registering a blood alcohol content of .10.
In September, upon the advice of a specially retained attorney, the EPCS school board voted unanimously to place Klitzman on contractual probation for one year, as a result of the OWI incident.
The school board met with attorney Robert Reiling of West Lafayette to discuss its course of action on the issue. A school board spokesman said the disciplinary measure was satisfactory to board members and that Klitzman accepted the terms.
