Commencement exercises for the Class of 2010 at West central High School will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 30, in the gymnasium.
Lance is vice president of student council, president of National Honor Society and member Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Future Farmers of America and Business Professionals of America and band. He has been active in 4-H and the St. James-Salem Church youth, and volunteered with Special Olympics. He has earned 13 varsity athletic letters, participating in basketball, baseball and track.
Lance is a recipient of the Lily Scholarship and has been named a Presidential Scholarship award winner for Purdue University. He was a Hoosier Boys State delegate and named one of the state's Academic All-Stars by the Indianapolis Star. He has won numerous awards in academic competitions in math, science, business, writing and social studies.
Makenna has been active with Student Council, National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Future Farmers of America and has also been a volunteer for Special Olympics and at Parkview Haven Retirement Home.
She will play volleyball at Manchester. She was a four-year athlete in volleyball, basketball and track at West Central where she earned numerous school and conference honors. She also won math and writing awards in Midwest Conference academic competitions.
