The banquet was held Monday (May 10), at the Eastern Pulaski Elementary School, organized by the school’s fine arts departments and the Winamac Music Boosters. A carry-in dinner preceded the awards ceremony. All members of band, guard, choir and drama were honored with certificates of participation and letters, graduation numberals and chevrons for varying years of participation.
Other titled awards were presented to Tyler Abbott (Director's Award for Band), Jenna Linback (Director's Award for Choir), Matthew Jamieson (Band Leadership Award), Sarah Doty (Arion Award for Choir) and Paul Hettinger (Louis Armstrong Jazz Award).
Outstanding Band Awards were given to Josh Daugherty (senior), Emily Paulsen (junior), Danyell Bailey (sophomore) and Andrew Brandon (freshman). Outstanding Guard Award was given to MacKenzie Foster.
Outstanding Choir Awards were presented to Jayme Fritz (senior), Emily Paulsen (junior), Ridge Parks (sophomore) and Ralph Thomas (freshman).
Outstanding Drama Awards were given to Whitney Schmicker (senior), Emily Paulsen (junior), Jordan Morning (sophomore) and Ralph Thomas (freshman).
Awards were presented by directors Micah Combs (band/guard) and Patrick Schuttrow (choral/drama), who both expressed their gratitude to the Music Boosters and parents for all the support and assistance that they provide and their pride in the achievements of students throughout this past year.
Guests of honor in attendance were the directors, Mary Ann Fritz (EPES choral director), Mr. and Mrs. Rick DeFries (WCHS principal), Tim Roth (presenter of the Tyler W. Roth Award), and Rhonda Berger, Krista Spurgeon and Charles Spurgeon (presenters of the Jennifer Spurgeon Award).
